It's been a few days since I've left a post so sorry, but I've got a story for you all.....
I was working last night (night shift) and asked my dad to bring me some things up to work on. So being the nice guy that he is, he did. He hadn't been gone from the hospital for longer that 15 minutes and my phone rang. I answered it, seeing that it was my mom, and she told me that Colton had been up to the Lions Park playing night games and broke his leg. She said that my dad was bringing him up and to go meet them in the ER to keep her posted on what was going on. (oh and keep in mind that Jaron is hunting so my mom and dad have Jager for the night) I go in just about the same time they were getting there and helped him into a wheel chair and into the ER.
They start doing the routine stuff on him and the ER nurse asked him what had happend and get this......a girl ran over his leg with her car!!! grrrrr. Long story short.....she was being very irresponsible and wasnt paying attention. Colton and a friend were standing outside the car next to the passenger door and she got mad and cranked the wheel and somehow ran over him and hit him. I guess there is a pretty good size dent in the passenger side door from it all. All of the kids that were there, except the friend standing by him at the time, took off and left him laying there in the parking lot unable to move at all. The girl kinda took off for a while and then came back to see him.
When he first got in and we looked at it we were all, including the doctor, convinced that it was definately broken, if not crushed. After Xrays and what not they found that it fractured his growth plate on his left tibia. Normally they dont do much with fractures but where it is on the growth plate he has to have surgery in Cedar City first thing tomorrow morning to get it pinned and set. He's just lucky it was the only thing broken. His ankle is so swollen and his shin has a lot of bruising and what not. His shin bone also has some big knots on them that look like hematomas but as long as the Xrays say it's okay, thats all we are worried about!!
I'll let you know how the surgery goes. He is just upset because it's obviously going to take about 6 weeks or more to heal and guess what.... wrestling practice starts tomorrow! I just feel so bad for him.
